About Sue Henry

A retired music educator and professional musician, Sue Henry has been studying and practicing photography for a number of years. She has received instruction in photography from well known and talented western Kentucky artists Jennifer Dickson of Studio 218, the late Gene Boaz of Gene Boaz Studios, and has attended photography classes at the Paducah School of Art.  Her  most recent photography learning experience has been with the talented photographer and instructor,  Alison Hahn. Henry additionally has  continued her education by constantly surrounding herself with photography books, examples of works of others, attending photography workshops and seminars with nationally recognized photographers, as well as taking advantage of a multitude of on-line learning opportunities.

Henry’s work is featured at in BeBe’s Artisan Gallery located in Paducah, Kentucky.

You will quickly observe that frequently Henry pairs a thought provoking quote with an image; thus bringing a unique poetic side to a particular image.  Henry says:

“‘The Arts’ have been an integral part of my life from a very early age; first as a professional musician, and later in life as a visual artist. My passion for finding beauty in what may be sometimes considered unexpected places, is very evident to the viewer. The artist’s eye sees colors, shapes, and details often missed by others.”

    Sue:
Your comment on my Dahlia photo Included the following: “I always enjoy reading your EXIF data and would love to know more about how you shoot these wonderful images.”

I know what you mean about exif data–I appreciate that information when viewing the images of others as it helps me learn.

I would be happy to share with you whatever I know about photography. I’m thinking of how we might go about this. The easiest for me would be to answer questions you pose. What do you think? Do you have any other ideas?

I am largely self taught, having taken a few photo classes. I, too, am now retired and enjoying the opportunity to pursue photography.

    Warmly,
    Anita :-)
