NAIA Pow Wow — part two

From the printed program:

“Ever since Columbus first misnamed the people he found in the New World, Native Americans have suffered from an identity crisis.  It is difficult for the rest of us to realize that they are not one people  There are more than 500 distinct tribes in the United States.  They speak more than 50 different languages, although the tongues are rapidly disappearing as the old ones pass from the scene.”
