A Christmas Gift

Nearly ten years ago this Christmas Cactus was given to us by a friend.

It’s interesting that through the year this plant really doesn’t get much attention. Yes, I water it from time to time but more often it gets neglected.

All of a sudden, each December, beautiful blossoms begin showing up on the otherwise bare green spiky leaves. The blossoms always remind me of Rodena and what a good friend she has been to the family over the years.

Thank you Rodena for the gift of friendship; a most cherished Christmas gift.

“Christmas gift suggestions:
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect.”

This is just perfect. I’m thinking maybe my poinsettia needs a Christmas cactus to keep it company.

This shot will have to be another one of my favorites. The black background makes it exotic.
